Solitude
Solitude is for the person who's learned to stand alone without calling it lonely.
I made this at the very end of a client shoot, with the car already packed, closing a farm gate on my way out when a single tree on the hill across the road caught my attention, leaning from the slope, not quite straight, standing entirely by itself. The sun was already below the horizon directly behind it, leaving almost nothing to expose for except a clean silhouette, so I crossed the road and worked quickly, making about six exposures and adjusting each one to hold the gradient of pink and orange fading up into deep blue, without losing the strength of the outline itself.
What struck me, crossing that road, was how little the tree's solitude seemed to cost it. Most trees in that landscape grow in clusters, leaning on each other for shelter. This one stood alone on an exposed hill, a little scraggly, clearly weathered, and entirely intact. Not merely surviving, but thriving there, in a way I found genuinely admirable to witness.
Solitude is for the days you're standing apart from everyone else and start to wonder if that means something's wrong. Let it hang somewhere you see when you need reminding, and it will keep making the same case that tree made to me: standing apart isn't the same as struggling, and staying upright on your own terms, for long enough, is sometimes all it takes for the strength to become visible.

As 2024 passes, turning to a new page on my Tara Bulga edition is a monthly highlight in my world. So excited to see the release of the 2025 calendar. Once again you've captured stunning images to brighten my kitchen for another year.
These calendars are stunning. This is my second year purchasing and I can easily say it will not be my last. The quality is spectacular, the photos are beautiful and the time taken on each one shows. I have purchased 3x 2024 calendars to have them surrounding me, one in the home office, one on display in reception at work and one as a gift for my parent's house. If you are ever stuck needing something for someone who has everything, these calendars should be at the top of your list.
Absolutely in awe of the Rainforest Reverie A3 2024 Calendar! The Tara Bulga rainforest photos are beyond stunning - each month feels like a journey into nature's beauty in the comfort of my space. The exceptional quality does not disappoint. Highly recommend! 🌿📆✨
