Let It In
This photograph came from the same tree as More Than Red.
The difference was perspective.
Instead of exposing for the leaves, I exposed for the sky. The colours of the leaves disappeared into silhouette, and suddenly the spaces between them became visible. Golden light threaded through shapes and textures I hadn't noticed before.
The photograph taught me something I continue to relearn.
The more we know, the easier it becomes to believe we've understood enough. Yet growth rarely arrives through certainty. It arrives through curiosity. Through recognising there are things we still don't know. Through remaining open to being surprised.
That is what became Let It In.
For the collector, this piece is a reminder that self-trust and curiosity are not opposites. Confidence does not require having all the answers. Sometimes true confidence is the willingness to acknowledge the gaps and stay open to what the light might reveal through them.
